Upon his graduation in 1990, Mia Kuang joined the Singapore office of a “Big 4” accounting firm where he gained considerable experience in audit, tax and special audit assignments.
Throughout his career, Mia Kuang has held various key appointments. He was the Regional Accountant (South Europe) of Singapore Airlines, overseeing the financial operations of various cities such as London, Zurich, Paris, Rome, Athens and other stations. In this role, he also helped establish the financial operations of the Madrid office.
Mia Kuang later joined Fullmark Pte Ltd as its Group Financial Controller responsible for operations in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Vietnam. He was in charge of strategic investments, treasury, group financing and mergers and acquisitions.
Another appointment Mia Kuang held was as the Chief Accountant of Dalian Container Terminal (DCT), a flagship joint venture between the port authorities of Singapore and Dalian. He played a key role in generating operational efficiency, profitability and return on capital for DCT. He was actively involved in new investments and acquisitions, having handled investments in three subsidiaries of DCT and other cooperative ventures.
Mia Kuang co-founded SBA Stone Forest, a subsidiary of Chio Lim Stone Forest with offices in Shanghai and Beijing, and currently leads the corporate secretarial, accounting and tax services divisions. In addition, he is actively involved in corporate finance and investment deals. His successful track record includes that of assisting a major investment fund in the divestment of an infrastructure project valued at USD16 .5 million. He has also assisted several major global clients in securing partnership agreements with Chinese domestic players.
Mia Kuang has been a speaker for wide-ranging interests relating to doing business in China, which include accounting and audit issues, as well as taxation and investment in China. Fluent in English and Mandarin, he has spoken at several public seminars organised by IE Singapore, Singapore IT Federation (SiTF), The Singapore Training & Development Association (STADA) and the Asia Business Forum. Some platforms that he has addressed include the Singapore International Foundation Overseas Conference, China SMEs Conference and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Entrepreneur Programme. |
