Derek joined Price Waterhouse Singapore (predecessor firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers) in 1996. In 2003, he joined the Accountant-General’s Department under the Ministry of Finance. He was seconded to the Public Accountants Board where he assumed the role of Acting Technical Director in December 2003. In 2004, Derek assumed the role of Head, Financial Review Division in the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority where he headed the practice monitoring review team. Derek also represented ACRA and Singapore in overseas conferences such as the World Standards Setters Meeting.
Derek joined Chio Lim Stone Forest as Director, Audit in November 2006. Apart from being responsible for a portfolio of clients that includes listed companies, Derek will be taking the lead in ensuring that the firm’s audit methodology and processes are in compliance with the standards expected by RSM International and regulators, and performing quality review of the firm’s listed company audits and IPOs. Derek will also be assisting the technical partner on technical matters.
Derek was a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore from February 2004 to October 2006. He was also the Secretary to the Council on Corporate Disclosure and Governance from October 2003 to October 2006. |
