Peter has 22 years of experience since qualifying as a chartered accountant, including 8 years with Horwath & Horwath in Melbourne and 2 years with Peat Marwick in Singapore. His experience also included a year with Caltex (Asia) Ltd in Singapore as a Management Accountant in charge of the accounting department in relation to refinery operations. He also participated in the development of the annual business planning of the company.
Peter’s portfolio of audit clients at Peat Marwick in Singapore included banks, multinational manufacturing companies and local trading groups. He was also involved in the due diligence review and preparation of the independent accountants report of a company that was successfully listed on the Singapore Exchange.
While he was in Melbourne, he managed the audits of a wide variety of the firm’s clientele, in particular, property development and management, retail fashion, tourism and motor dealerships. These clients included public listed companies and large private groups. In addition to audit services, he was involved in legal support work, due diligence reviews and the provision of expert advice to a number of clients. He had also been involved in consultancy assignments such as the implementation of controls for treasury, construction and inventory operations. Whilst with Horwath & Horwath, he was seconded for three months to Chio Lim Stone Forest (CLSF) to assist in the audit division and conduct training.
Peter joined RSM Chio Lim as a senior manager in 1997 and specialises in audit, litigation support/ forensic accounting and special assignments. In 1998, he was made a director of the firm and a partner in January 2002. Peter has acted as Reporting Accountant for several IPOs on the Singapore Exchange. He also sits in the Financial and Business Services Committee of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce. |
