Paul joined Price Waterhouse Singapore (predecessor firm of Pricewaterhouse Coopers) in 1987. In 1989, he was transferred to the Sydney, Australia office of Price Waterhouse, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. On his return to Singapore in 1993, he joined Ernst & Young as Audit Manager. Paul was the Finance Manager responsible for the international operations of a Malaysian group in 1995, before he joined RSM Chio Lim in 1996. He was admitted to the partnership in 1997.
Paul is currently the head of RSM Chio Lim’s audit and tax services. Apart from audit partner sign-off responsibilities for a diverse portfolio of listed and privately held clients, Paul’s professional experience includes acting as Reporting Auditors for several IPOs on the Singapore Exchange, providing due diligence and transaction support services in acquisitions as well as advisory services to companies, including listed companies, in corporate turnaround and recovery, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Since April 2006, Paul is a member of the Auditing and Assurance committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. Paul was also a member of RSM International’s Transnational Assurance Services Executive Committee (TASEC) from 2006 to 2008. TASEC is responsible for establishing the common audit standards and methodologies of RSM International, and for the inspection programmes that test adoption and compliance by member firms of RSM International. Paul is also a lay member of the Singapore Medical Council’s Complaints Panel since April 2008. |
