Kian Huat started his career with Arthur Young & Company (predecessor firm of Ernst & Young) in 1980 upon his graduation where he undertook audit assignments in various sectors including services, manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, in countries like Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia.
He joined a local construction group in 1983 as its finance & administration manager where he was in charge of finance, administration, personnel, general affairs and EDP. He was instrumental in the computerisation of the entire Management Information System and the creation of a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
He also represented the group's various joint ventures with foreign contractors including those involved in the MRTC projects, arranged for financing of turnkey design, construct and finance projects, as well as managed the finances of the group's development projects.
Kian Huat founded the firm in 1985. He specialises in business planning, project financing, corporate finance, financial & operations review, business turnaround management & corporate rescue, and advisory services in mergers and acquisitions.
Since commencing his own practice, he has undertaken numerous consultancy projects in the region. In addition, he has helped several companies to restructure as well as secure venture capital funding and additional credit facilities from financial institutions. In the area of pre-listing review and listing work, Kian Huat was instrumental in the successful listing of several companies on the Singapore Exchange.
