Lee Soon joined SBA Stone Forest (SBASF) in 2013 to head the corporate advisory services unit in North China. He is a qualified accountant with more than 20 years' experience.
Lee Soon is not new to the Stone Forest group, parent of SBASF, having spent 6 years with the business advisory and IT units in the late 1990s. As one of the rare-breed CPAs who successfully marries accountancy and IT, he spearheaded the formation of the group's MIS unit and its IT Advisory practice to help clients streamline business processes prior to system implementation. He also set up the first MYOB Certified Training Centre in Singapore during his tenure.
He was invited to rejoin the group to add firepower to grow the advisory business of SBASF. Prior to this, he spent a considerable amount of time in China providing business advisory services to Singapore companies, while running his own business at the same time. He assisted Singapore companies to set up and restructure their finance departments in their PRC subsidiaries, which included hands-on supervision, training and implementation of accounting systems, as well as the development and implementation of Policies and Procedures for the PRC entities.
Lee Soon started his career with a local-listed food & beverage company. Apart from routine accounting work, he was involved in corporate projects, including the review of the Purchase Management System, development of a Disaster Recovery Plan, implementation of GST and the adoption of Activity Based Costing. He was also a lecturer at a local polytechnic prior to joining the group.
